I understand how this could in theory catch labs that are not within appropriate standard deviations for test results, i.e. abnormally high potency values. Personally, with the variance in testing already, this practice would make me nervous. If they do begin doing this, they better use a certified proficiency test. If the results were not actionable but rather resulted in an audit, that would be better as I have seen some labs that have not had an in-depth audit for over three years while others have had multiple in one year.
Still… I don’t like it. We are always working out the kinks in the lab and this is the last thing we need.
